Another go at reviving the UN

Article Abstract:

The United Nations is expected to undergo a restructuring, consolidating many of its agencies and programs in anticipation of reduced financial support from member nations. The operations of the UN have been hampered for some time by the reluctance of member nations to pay their contributions. The US alone owes as much as $1.7 bil, the payment of which is being used by the US Congress to effect reorganization in the world body. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan is expected to be effective in his streamlining efforts, aligning the UN's function in the changing global environment.
