Apple Jacks' teen pack seeing red

Article Abstract:

Kellogg Canada has launched the 'Kaboom' TV ad to feature the Jacks Pack cereal brand' first of three new package designs. The ad, which runs throughout Canada except for Quebec, was one of the 10 concepts that Leo Burnett, the company's agency of record, presented to the Jacks Pack, the 21-member team tasked to help drive the revitalization of the Apple Jacks cereal brand. The ad also features the cereal packaging's return to the color red, which was decided by consumers themselves through an online vote.

Bring in the clones

Article Abstract:

Mutual fund management firms in Canada are focusing on foreign content as a means of attracting registered retirement savings plan investments in the 2000 season. The Canadian government has been receiving criticisms for putting a 20% limit on the amount of capital that citizens can invest outside the country. The allure of foreign investments, which has given birth to so-called 'clone' funds, is due to the perception that other economies are doing much better than the local economy.

Brand makeovers

Article Abstract:

The two most-read Canadian women's magazines, 'Chantelaine' and 'Canadian Living,' have undergone makeovers to meet the changing needs of their target markets. 'Chantelaine' adopted a more sophisticated, glossier and perfet-bound packaging, expanded its health section and included feature stories that interest women in their 20s and 30s. On the other hand, 'Canadian Living,' expanded its editorial section to include sections on health, home, relationships and fashion.
