Arcelor's chief blasts Mittal as ruthless corporate raider

Article Abstract:

A hostile bid of $24 billion by Mittal Steel Co. N.V. of the Netherlands to acquire Arcelor S.A. of France has been made. Mittal Steel Co. N.V. is the largest steel company in the world with Arcelor S.A. it's closest rival. Chief Executive Officer Guy Dolle, Arcelor S.A. is rallying political support against the Mittal move.

For Arcelor, a painless transition: Mittal, so far, leaves steelmaker's plants in Europe unchanged

Article Abstract:

The takeover of Arcelor S.A. by Mittal Steel Company N.V. has not resulted in any major changes for Arcelor, despite fears to the contrary. However, the company is not ruling out future plant closures and job losses as the companies merge their operations.
