Are the Petronas Towers an expression of things Malaysian or modified Western architecture? Does it matter?

Article Abstract:

Malaysian architectural forms have discarded their history and returned to an image based on Islam. It is believed that in a world community, the threads of pluralistic culture need to become clear and not transformed into a potentially corrected version of some new identity, as a struggle for independence from the past is a sign of insecurity and weakness.

Dreary urban sprawl is nothing compared with natural wonders

Article Abstract:

An architecture critic believes that the only interesting feature in Canada's landscape in and around Toronto is the area's only natural feature, the Niagara Falls. Everything else is urban sprawl, steel structures, rows of nondescript houses, and commercial and industrial buildings.
