As good as it gets?

Article Abstract:

Ghana can be seen as an economic succes story in Africa, with its developing retail industry, middle class, and rising stock prices. Ghana has not been hit by civil war or coups. International Monetary Fund and World Bank reform programs have been adhered to and Ghana has received more aid than average for an African country, but this aid has tended not to reach the rural poor. Critics argue that the government has relied too much on market forces in agriculture. Ghana is also building up debts, and a tax rise in 1995 led to a riot.

Article Abstract:

Ismail Khan, leader of an anti-Taliban front, is a moderate who supports 'free-as-possible' elections. While he may gain control of western Afghanistan, he will never win enough support from the Pushtun majority to be a national leader.
