Article Abstract:

The results of a survey of the lifestyles of 3,000 affluent Asian families is presented. Results indicate that 60% of working wives are career-oriented work and that the standard of living, as reflected by the presence of household help, is highest in in Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. Asians enjoy entertaining guests, mostly outside the home. They also travel a lot, at least seven times a year on an average. Malaysia and Singapore are the most popular tourist spots in Asia, and most Asians prefer sightseeing holidays.

Article Abstract:

Results of a study on Asian lifstyles, particularly how Asians earn their money and spend it, are presented. Asia continues to be an economic success while industrialized nations in the West continue to struggle with recessions. The survey was conducted by Asia Market Intelligence for Fas Eastern Economic Review with 3, 000 subscribers as respondents. Among other results highlighted were the income sources and investment options of Aians.

Article Abstract:

A survey of affluents in 10 Asian countries is presented. Their lifestyle and interests are outlined. The results indicate that the affluents, which have a minimum household income of US$30,000, live comfortably. They resemble their Western counterparts of an earlier period where hours for work and leisure are carefully allotted and women have increasingly risen in social stature.
