American Eurocopter L.L.C. of the United States offered free rescue and emergency supplies drop off services during Hurricane Katrina. The helicopter company is a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. that is persuing expansion in the United States. The Hurricane Katrina rescue work also became a marketing platform.

Lockheed's profit climbs 39%; Northrop's 5.4%

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin Corp. of the United States posted increased profit of 39 percent with net income of $427 million. The aircraft and shipbuilding company Northrop Grumman Corp. also of the United States posted net income increased to $293 million, although profit is down 5.4 percent because of hurricane damage.

Defense companies post higher profits for fourth quarter

Article Abstract:

Defense industries of the United States posted increased profits for the fourth quarter. Northrop Grumman Corp. of the United States profit rose approximately 22 percent to $331 million due to aid from a tax benefit. United Technologies Corp. posted 2.3 percent profit gain to $626 million.
