American Eurocopter L.L.C. of the United States offered free rescue and emergency supplies drop off services during Hurricane Katrina. The helicopter company is a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. that is persuing expansion in the United States. Lockheed's profit climbs 39%; Northrop's 5.4%

Lockheed Martin Corp. of the United States posted increased profit of 39 percent with net income of $427 million. The aircraft and shipbuilding company Northrop Grumman Corp. also of the United States posted net income increased to $293 million, although profit is down 5.4 percent because of hurricane damage.

Defense industries of the United States posted increased profits for the fourth quarter. Northrop Grumman Corp. of the United States profit rose approximately 22 percent to $331 million due to aid from a tax benefit. United Technologies Corp. posted 2.3 percent profit gain to $626 million.
