Avoiding academic and decorative planning in GHG emissions abatement studies with MCDA: the Peruvian case

Article Abstract:

The framework suggested by the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) focused to study the costs and the impact of national policies for abating greenhouse gases emission (GHG). A process, which enhances stakeholder participation, validation, and ownership of the planning process, was used in a national study in Peru.

Community planning rural education in South Africa

Article Abstract:

The experience in using soft OR methods to support the planning processes of a community-based educational trust in South Africa is described. It was agreed to adapt the workshop design by introducing complementary methods to facilitate participation of large number of participants.

Scenario planning-lessons for practice from teaching and learning

Article Abstract:

A brief overview of the range of scenario development methods is presented. It is observed that valid lessons for the practice of scenario planning can be gained from assessing the output generated both from workshop settings and live applications.
