Western countries should maintain interest in Afghanistan. The US and other world powers are responsible to an extent for war in Afghanistan and some of its ill effects. Continuing strife in Afghanistan could eventually pose a threat to neighboring countries.

Iran is being flooded with Afghan and Kurdish refugees because of its open door policy. Other countries with less refugees are getting more assistance from Western countries.
