BCI's 8.9% stake in Mediobanca will be split, sold

Article Abstract:

Banca Commerciale Italian SpA will sell its 8.9% stake at Mediabanca SpA in light of Banca Commerciale's being acquired by Banca Intesa SpA. UniCredito Italiano SpA and Banca di Roma SpA, major shareholders of Mediobanca are concerned that the sale of the stake will provide opportunities for a takeover move but was assured that the stake will be scattered among new and existing stockholders.

Piaggio to take a 20% stake in MV Agusta

Piaggio SpA has completed an agreement with MV Agusta to take a 20% stake in the company. This action could be the first step toward a merger. The two companies intend to create a group that would manufacture an entire range of motorbikes.
