BELLS CONTROL FORAYS INTO SOFTWARE

Article Abstract:

Bells Control Ltd (BCL) of Calcutta-based Jalan group has identified software business as one of the potential ventures for its overall growth. It has tied up with Computer Associates for developing new product that combines enterprise management with process control techniques. Under the agreement between the two companies, Computer Associates will handle the enterprise management part while BCL will develop matching product control process to suit the needs of industrial sector. BCL has already established a software unit in Bangalore and expects a turnover of Rs1 crore for six-month period ending March 31, 1999. (gs)

INFOTECH TIES UP WITH FRENCH CO FOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Article Abstract:

Infotech Enterprises Ltd (IEL), Hyderabad, has tied up with APTA Conseil SA of France for developing business software. An ATPA Conseil Centre of Excellence (ACCE) is to be set up in Hyderabad. ACCE will employ software developers from IEL who will work on ATPA Conseil software development projects. ACCE's first project involves developing a software for data warehousing and customised support generation. (vv)

BPL TELECOM, JAPANESE CO IN PACT FOR WEB PHONE SOFTWARE

Article Abstract:

BPL Telecom, a part of the BPL group of Bangalore, says that it is collaborating with a Japanese telecommunication and office automation company to develop software for Web phones. The Web phone, which can send e-mails and recognise speech, will be introduced in the US and Japanese markets. BPL Telecom has invested Rs9.5 crore and doubled its phone production capacity to 15 lakh units per annum. (khr)
