Bank of Cyprus makes bid for Greece's Emporiki Bank

Bank of Cyprus is making overtures to acquire Emkporiki Bank of Greece S.A. for 3.8 billion Euros (approximately $4.81 billion). Bank of Cyprus is offering a share offer price equivalent to 28.56 Euros per share. The bank is trying to outbid rival Credit Agricole S.A. to purchase the Greek bank.
