Britannia Industries Limited (BIL), Calcutta, has posted a 21 percent rise in net sales during the quarter ended September 1998. The rise in sales is attributed to a rise in the biscuit and cake operations. It also posted a 35 percent rise in the gross profit and a 36 percent rise in the net profit. BIL has announced its provisional unaudited financial results for the period. (ag)
