Bank of Scotland's profit is expected to rise

Bank of Scotland PLC is expected to post an improvement in its pretax profits for the first-half of 1999. The bank is expected to report between 435 million pound sterling to 463 million pound sterling in pretax profits in the period ending August 31, 1999. During the same period in 1998, Bank of Scotland posted 420 million pound sterling.

Bank of Scotland boosts profit on corporate-lending growth

Bank of Scotland posted an increase of 7% in its profit before exceptional items and tax for the 2001 first-half. The bank posted 571 million pounds in pretax profits for the period.

Barclays growth slowed in quarter

Barclays PLC posted slower growth for the 2000 third-quarter. The bank said that while growth in revenues was moderate, its profits continued to perform well.
