Basel's new "Puppenhaus."

Article Abstract:

The Puppenhaus in Basel, Switzerland, is Europe's largest doll museum with some 6,000 dolls and 2,000 teddy bears on display. The dolls and teddies are exhibited in real-life situations such as dollhouses, shops, street scenes and other events depicting Wester life in the 20th century. The museum was established by Gigi Oeri who preferred to show the dolls in various social situations rather than by subject or era as what other museums do. The dolls may be sitting in a miniaturized kitchen equipped with pots and pans or they may be taking tea or a bath in an old-fashioned tub.

The pasted paper revolution

Article Abstract:

Paper collage has been considered to be a viable theme for artists exhibiting their works at Art 30 Basel by London's Crane Kalman Gallery. This canvas technique has been known to use papery and powdery procedures. Its development was first recognized in the early 1910s as heralding a new era in art history. Among the famous artists that have experimented with the procedure were Picasso, Braque, Gris, Dubuffet, Ben Nicholson and Peter Drake.
