Blackstone Group will purchase Wyndham chain for $1.44 billion

Blackstone Group L.P., the investment bank of the United States has agreed to acquire the Wyndham International Inc. luxury hotel chain for $1.44 billion, an indicator of economic recovery in the American hotel industry. Wyndham International Inc. shares were up 15 percent to $1.12 on the American Stock Exhcange.

Goldman Group raises AB Ports bid

Article Abstract:

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. of the United States increased an acquisition bid for Associated British Ports Holdings PLC of the United Kingdom to 2.4 billion Pounds. The cash offer has been raised to 810 Pence ($15.28) per share from 730 Pence a share, or 2.2 billion Pounds.
