Bohemia Musico Delicia expects a profit in 2000

Article Abstract:

Bohemia Musico Delicia (BMD) (Horovice, Czech Republic), musical instrument manufacturer, expects a profit in 2000 again. The firm expects a loss of about 12 mil Kc in 1999. The main reason for the loss is the 40% devaluation of the South Korean currency, which caused a decrease in musical instruments of important manufacturers from South Korea. In 1998 the firm had to dismiss about 100 employees due to the Asian crisis. During the second half of 1999 BMD started to extend its production and increased the number of its employees from 250 to 300 persons. BMD is the largest European accordion manufacturer.
