Boris Jordan steps down from Sidanko's top jobs

Article Abstract:

The chief executive officer and chairman of the board of OAO Sidanko, Boris Jordan, has resigned from his posts. Mr. Jordan had been in the posts for only two months before his resignation. Sidanko is the fifth-largest producer of oil in Russia. Sidanko and MFK Renaissance, an investment bank, are owned by the Interros financial-industrial group. Mr. Jordan will stay on as the CEO of MFK. Mr. Jordan resigned for what he called a conflict of interest, as he is also the head of the Sputnik investment fund, a major Sidanko creditor.

Saudi Arabia to join efforts to stabilize global oil markets

The article discusses Saudi Arabia's plans to cooperate with OPEC to boost the supply of oil and stabilize the oil markets. The country's statement was interpreted to mean that it would attempt to decrease crude prices, which have remained at above $30 (Euro$33.62) a barrel for a long time.

BP to cut 1,000 jobs in Scotland
