Borse Dubai draws a rebuke, but no penalty, in OMX push

Article Abstract:

Sweden's financial regulator has found that the United Arab Emirates company Borse Dubai broke the law when it built up a stake prior to making an offer for OMX AB. Although no disciplinary action will be taken, Borse Dubai has compromised its image with the regulator, which will complicate the process should its offer win out over that of rival bidder Nasdaq Stock Market Inc.

Borse Dubai contests ruling on OMX bid

Article Abstract:

Middle East stock-exchange firm Borse Dubai has filed an appeal regarding the ruling that it broke Sweden's financial markets regulations with its approach to buy a stake in Swedish stock-exchange firm OMX AB. Borse Dubai made a cash bid for a 25% stake in OMX totaling $4 bil; the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority ruled that it was a takeover bid.

Deutsche Borse looks for ties to Bulgaria

Article Abstract:

Deutsche Borse AG of Germany is looking for mergers with smaller European stock exchanges and particularly the Bulgarian bourse. The Bulgarian stock exchange is 44 percent state owned. Bulgaria is to become an European Union member on January 1st, 2007.
