Bottled: Perrier

Article Abstract:

The battle between the Agnelli family, Nestle, and Indosuez for control of Source Perrier (SP) continues to rage. The Agnellis and Exor Corp were very close to gaining a majority equity stake until a French court nullified a sale of 13.8% of SP's stock to an Agnelli ally.

Article Abstract:

The Italian industrialist Agnelli family's bid for Source Perrier has run into trouble, and they may lose out to a sweeter bid by Switzerland's Nestle SA. One-time allies Saint Louis and BSN may favor Nestle, further hurting Agnelli's goal to diversify out of Italy.

Not so fast: Nestle's purchase of Perrier

Article Abstract:

Nestle paid $2.8 billion to gain control of the bottled water industry giant, Source Perrier. The European Commission approved the acquisition only after insisting on terms that would help ensure competition in the industry.
