Brain drain: doctors drill hole to relieve pressure in patients' skulls; novel approach to treat chronic fatigue wins contempt of colleagues

Article Abstract:

Several neurosurgeons are treating fibromyalgia syndrome by drilling off part of the back of their patients' skulls. This treatment for the illness which manifests itself through muscle pain, fatigue, sleeplessness and depression is being utilized because some physicians believe their patients' skulls or spinal canal are too tight and squeezing the brain or spinal cord.
