British Airways net soars 75%

Second-quarter/first fiscal quarter net profit for British Airways PLC rose 75% to reach $547.9 mil, boosted by a lower tax rate and cost controls. Sales fell 2.4%, due in part to security and luggage restrictions at Heathrow Airport in London. Passenger traffic declined by 1.9%.
