The acquisition is part of ARM's goal to expand the range of products it can offer to its customers. ARM currently supplies nearly all of the world's major semiconductor companies with a piece of technology crucial to the manufacture of such popular consumer electronics as portable digital devices, digital cameras, and cell phones.
