Buying a book as a Christmas gift: two routes to customer immersion

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the buying processes in two Italian bookstores. One is a traditional family-run bookshop, and the other one is a large international chain store. Two business models based on different processes of valorization of purchasers' emotions are presented. The two-path model represents several strategies to involve consumers emotionally.
