The Chennai unit of Visteon India is likely to help Visteon Automotive Systems (VAS) to increase its customer base in India. This unit is also expected to help VAS to achieve its worldwide initiative of developing a flexible, responsive global delivery system. The unit includes Visteon Automotive Systems India Private Ltd and Visteon Powertrain Control System India Private Limited. Viseton India designs, engineers, manufactures and assembles fully integrated instrument panels with instrument clusters, air conditioning controls and wiring harness. (ag)(m)

The company posted a growth of 58.83 percent in 1997-98 and showed a growth of 17 percent in granite exports when overall granite exports from India declined by 8.77 percent. Rs4-CR GRANITE PROCESSING UNIT NEAR CHENNAI

Devinarayan Granites Ltd (DGL), a 51:49 venture of the Devinarayan group of Chennai and Stein Von Grein of Austria, has started a Rs4 crore granite processing unit at Navalur village, near Chennai. The project, financed by the Bank of India, will produce quality granite monuments for international markets. The Austrian firm will provide technical and marketing assistance. (khr)
