CHS Electronics desires to alter Vobis-deal terms

Article Abstract:

Vobis Microcomputer AG's proposed sale to CHS Electronics Inc., a wholesaler of computers and related products, for $320 million is expected to be reformed by the parties in light of recent developments in the market. The reformation of the purchase deal was spurred by the inability of CHS Electronics Inc. to come up with the funds necessary to cover the amount of the deal, according to industry observers. Under the terms of the stock and cash transaction, which was originally scheduled to be consummated by September 1998, CHS will assume $350 million in Vobis debt.
