BSES Ltd, a power utility company, has recently said that it will reduce its power tariff for High Tensile customers. The company posted a net profit of Rs267.56 crore in 1997-98. Most of the securities firms are forecasting that the company's net profit for 1998-99 will be in the same region with a plus or minus variation of 10 percent. Only SMIFS Securities has predicted that the company's net profit will be Rs607.9 crore in 1998-99. BSES Ltd posted a net profit of Rs78.7 crore in the first quarter of 1998-99. (khr)

The consensus net profit projected by securities houses for Cadbury India is Rs23.25 crore in 1998-99 against its net profit of Rs19.03 crore in 1997-98. Cazenove India has predicted that the company will post a net profit of Rs17.50 crore while ICICI Securities predicts a net profit of Rs15.70 crore in 1998-99. ABN Amro predicts that the company will give an earnings per share (EPS) of Rs10.9 in 1998-99 while DSP Merrill Lynch predicts an EPS of Rs7.8. (khr)
