ENRON PHASE-II AMONG $500-M FDI CLEARED
Article Abstract:
The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) has approved foreign direct investment (FDI) proposals worth over $500 million. FIPB has approved investment of $452.7 million by Enron in phase II of its Dabhol power project. It has permitted Enron to hold 100 percent equity in the power project. The Maharashtra State Electricity Board has been permitted to pick up 30 percent equity in the 1,444 mw power project at a later stage. (gs)(vr)

AMIT RAY BACK AS IFL MD

The India Foils Ltd (IFL) of Williamson Magor group of Calcutta has reappointed Mr Amit Ray as the managing director of the company. Mr Ray had left IFL few years back to join Bata as a senior executive. Mr Ray is viewed a trusted executive with a proven track record. Mr Ray had earlier executed a capacity expansion programme for IFL and its subsidiary. (um)(vr)
