Cadbury's profit tumbles 5.6%

Article Abstract:

Cadbury Schweppes PLC posted a reduction of 5.6% in its pretax profits for the first-half of 1999. The company stated that it would receive an approximately $700 million (658.9 million euros) initial cash payment from the sale of businesses to Coca-Cola. Cadbury posted 252 million pound sterling (377.7 million euros) in pretax profits for the six months ending on June 20. During the same period in 1998, the company posted 267 million euros.

First-quarter revenue fell 10% due to Euro, former businesses

Article Abstract:

Danone S.A. posted a drop of 10% in its revenues for the 2003 first quarter. The company, which was hurt by the strength of the euro and by businesses its sold in 2002, posted 3.23 billion euros in sales for the period.
