Canadian mines financier digs for Tinseltown gold

Article Abstract:

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., a new film distributorship set up by Canadian businessman Frank Giustra, has encountered problems with Hollywood, California's movie industry despite a relatively healthy start with films such as the romances "Mr. Jealousy" and "Buffalo 66." Lions Gate's share, which began trading at C$2.76 in November 1997, has declined in value to well under $3 per share. The company has run into problems involving Hollywood executive Peter Guber and actor Leonardo Di Caprio.

National Grid PLC is on a hunt for another acquisition in U.S

Article Abstract:

National Grid PLC announced that it is seeking additional acquisitions in the northeastern region of the US. The company made the announcement just months after it acquired New England Electric System and Eastern Utilities Associates for a price of $3.8 billion. The announcement was the first time that National Grid was specific about targeting a region in the US.
