Autonomous agent (AA) software research has been more successful than Artificial Intelligence (AI) research because its aims were simpler and fewer. AI researchers sought to design devices that could mimic the human brain, while AA inventors aimed for software that could perform simple, useful tasks.

Learning how to lend

Article Abstract:

Information technology is improving banks' lending performance and making obtaining a loan easier for customers. Barclay's Bank implemented Lending Advisor software, which standardized risk-grading and made loans less vulnerable to a chain of human attitudes.
