Century Hotel's staying power

Article Abstract:

Hotelier Brian Deeson's venture into the Asian market has paid off. Century International Hotels has grown into a chain of 12 hotels across Asia, including places such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hue in Vietnam and Davao City in the Philippines. Century has also concluded a merger with Hong Kong-listed Glynhill Internationa Ltd., the owner of the rights to the Delta hotel brand in Asia. The new company will retain the Century name and will be relisted on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Hong Kong hotel-management firm uses an owner-friendly approach

Article Abstract:

Koppen Yan Zimmermann (International) Ltd. (KYZ) has stepped up its efforts to improve its standing in the Asian hotel market. The company now has contracts with 14 hotels has may have 16 more by 1996. KYZ owns the development rights for the Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn hotel chains in Asia in addition to launching its own Zenith Hotels chain. KYZ founders were all former executives of Holiday Inn Worldwide.

Accor Asia sets unit to fund new hotels

Article Abstract:

Accor Asia Pacific Corp. has established a new investment company called Indotel Pte. Ltd. Accor Asia officials noted that Indotel Pte.'s primary objective is to raise funds for future hotel development projects in Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Burma. They also revealed that Accor Asia plans to establish two other investment companies in China and Indonesia for the same purpose.
