China Unicom's fund-raising grabs Western attention

Article Abstract:

China Unicom, which ranks number two as a wireless operator in China, is planning for fund-raising, possibly in order to raise the money to purchase 18 wireless provincial networks from its parent. Unicom's activity is attracting much attention from outside companies in regions such as the U.S., where it is possible to see either a recovery or a slowdown. China Mobile, China Unicom's rival, could steal away its anticipated success, however, being that mobile is currently a big industry.
