DaimlerChrysler AG is investing up to $226 million into its struggling Beijing Jeep Corp. joint venture in order to reverse Beijing Jeep's unprofitability. The investment will bring about a restructuring of the venture.

'Le Cost-Cutter' steers Nissan toward record profit

Article Abstract:

Nissan Motor Co. is expecting to post a profit of $1.54 billion for the six months ending in September, 2000, up 39% from the period last year. The financial success is due to chief executive Carlos Ghosn who is leading the company on a three-year plan to cut costs, become profitable and launch a series of new vehicles.

China's new way of doing business; entry into WTO augurs control for foreign companies

China's membership in the World Trade Organization, would be beneficial for Chinese and foreign companies in joint venture deals. It will strengthen those companies and help distribution of goods and services and remove restrictions and barriers to trade.
