Climbing back up the mountain

Article Abstract:

Swiss international engineering concern Sulzer will benefit in the long term from its current strategy of focusing on five corporate groups, according to chairman Fritz Fahrni, overcoming recent financial difficulties. The five divisions cover a diverse product range, including medical technology and weaving machinery, but Fahrni feels that the company is strengthened by the technology and market knowledge which it gains from operating in these areas. It has no plans to demerge, being satisfied with its current size.
