Vodka is the new gold factor in the United States alcoholic beverage market. 1/4 of all new liquor brands are types of vodka with 260 new brands introduced in the United States in the last five years. The trend was sparked by the $30 per bottle Grey Goose vodka; the successful startup was sold to Bacardi Ltd. for $2 billion.

Deere to buy Timberjack of Finland to expand in nonfarm operations

Article discussing Deere and Co.'s intent to acquire Timberjack Group, a manufacturer of logging-equipment owned by Finland's Metso Oyj, in a $600 million (Euro592.9 million) deal. The acquisition will enable Deere, the top maker of agricultural equipment in the U.S., to expand its nonfarm heavy-equipment operation.

Brown-Forman acquires 45% of Finlandia Vodka
