The EBAS Group, which has various production and marketing facilities in Europe, is the largest European cigar maker with the capacity to produce 1,000 cigars annually. Germany is the largest market of EBAS in terms of volume, generating 42% of cigar sales. The group's bobbin plant in Indonesia produces the Montague hand-rolled, lonfiller cigers, of which 12 premium types are offered. Its notable brands in the French market include La Paz, Willem II and Clubmaster Mini. The Ebas group has also launched the La Paz Red Man cigarillo, which has 50% of Cuban leaf, in France.

Helados Haagen-Dazs SA, which operates a chain of ice cream parlors in Spain, is the most dominant player in the desserts sector of the Spanish fast food market with a market share of about 30.7% in value terms in 1997. Haagen-Dazs, which only secured less than 1% of the overall fast food market, reported an increase in profits by about 24.4% to Ptas2,800 million in 1996 compared to turnover in 1995. The firm's ice cream parlors accounted for about 40% of its total sales with the remaining 60% from its supermarket retail sales and ice cream outlets.
