The UK foodservice market rose by 22.2% in 1995-1999, to GBP20.04 bil, with the number of consumer foodservice units rising by 9.5% to 159,274. The cafe/bar sector accounted for 46.5% of the units in 1999, but quick-service restaurants had the largest market share by value, with 42.1%.
