Restricting virtual weights in data envelopment analysis

Article Abstract:

The uses of virtual weight restrictions in data envelopment analysis are examined. The reasons for preferring virtual weight restrictions over absolute weight restrictions in some of the instances are discussed. It is concluded that different approaches to weights restrictions are required to capture particular preference information and virtual weights restrictions play an important role in this field.

Cost efficiency measurement with price uncertainty: a DEA application to bank branch assessments

Article Abstract:

A method of identifying upper and lower boundaries of cost efficiency of bank branch operations in the case of price uncertainty is presented. The data envelopment analysis method is used for the purpose. The performance improvement is measured using data envelopment analysis.
