Court case over architect's duties exonerates Saunders

Article Abstract:

Developer Capital and Counties and tenant Digital have decided to drop their claim against architectural firm W.H. Saunders to recover the cost of fire damage in 1990 at an office building in Basingstoke, England. W.H. Saunders will now receive legal costs of 250,000 pounds sterling. The case has touched on a number of key legal issues, including whether a developer can sue directly an architect acting simply as a sub-contractor for an element of architectural services under a design and build scheme.
