Credit card holders: characteristics of users and non-users

Article Abstract:

Credit card holders who are usually 30-40 years old and are earning at least f14,700 are most likely users of their cards. They have maintained their accounts for four to five years. They have had the same address for two to three years and either own their home, rent furnished apartments or live with their parents. Those least likely to use their cards are 60 years or older and earn less than f2,200. Their accounts are less than six months old. They have lived at their present addresses for 20 years or more, or rent unfurnished residences.

Delivering customer satisfaction within the SME client-banker relationship

Article Abstract:

The service industry's approach to client management is hampered by factors such as intangibility, perishability, heterogenous need, inability to isolate production from consumption and supplier ownership. The banking industry, for instance, has failed to foster customer-oriented management via promotional means thereby highlighting the need for a comprehensive marketing method. Banks are employing various financial support schemes and reforms to achieve customer satisfaction, particularly within small and medium size clients.

A comparison of a credit scoring model with a credit performance model

Article Abstract:

The characteristics of bank borrowers are analyzed based on a survey of 1,000 bank credit card holders. Borrowers are then grouped according to three specific models which credit suppliers use in making lending decisions. Two of these models are credit scoring models while the third is a credit performance model. All three models are shown to have better chances or prospects in predicting whether credit applicants will default on payments or not.
