DENMARK: CARLSBERG TO REDUCE STAFFING LEVELS

Article Abstract:

The Danish brewery company Carlsberg will reduce staffing levels by 10% of its 2,300 employees in the beer division in Denmark in the next 18 months. Through this measure, the company will reduce costs by DKr 90mn (USD 12mn) on an annual basis, even though redundancy pays will total DKr 80mn. In April, Carlsberg will possibly present further staffing reductions, as even distribution costs are to be cut.

Denmark: Carlsberg no longer interested in San Miguel

Article Abstract:

Carlsberg, the brewing company, has dropped out of the race to become the strategic partner and new shareholder of San Miguel, the leading brewery in the Philippines, according to an announcement by the company's information manager Margrethe Skov. She declines to state any reasons for this. Kirin, the biggest brewery in Japan, is tipped to be the favourite candidate for San Miguel partner.
