DENMARK: EQT NEGOTIATES WITH DANISCO

Article Abstract:

The Danish food group Danisco is still negotiating with EQT, the Swedish venture capital company, about the frozen food activities of Danisco Foods, which EQT is interested in taking over, according to the paper. As EQT recently has acquired the frozen food division of the Swedish company Findus from Nestle, Danisco Foods would be a good supplement, the paper states. The Danish animal feed company DLG is also interested in Danisco's frozen food activities, but is considered lacking funds.

DENMARK: DANISCO TO DIVEST DANISCO FLEXIBLE

Article Abstract:

The Danisco Group is to divest its flexible packaging unit Danisco Flexible as part of its strategy to focus on core operations i.e. food ingredients. The buyer is Amcor of Australia and AB Akerlund of Sweden, which is owned by A.Ahlstrom Corporation. The new joint venture, if approved by EU competition authorities, will be the leading producer of flexible packaging in Europe with a turnover of DKr8bn (US$975mn).

FINLAND: DANISCO ACQUIRES REMAINING SHARES

Danish sugar producer Danisco has gained total control of Finish sugar producer Cultor by acquiring the remaining minority shares. Danisco announced the aquisition on 1 March this year.
