DENMARK: HOUSING INVESTMENTS FORECAST TO DROP

Article Abstract:

The latest forecast by the Danish Building Employers' Confederation and the Danish Contractors' Association indicate that the boom period in the construction sector is weakening and construction activities both as regards residential construction and commercial building construction will drop during the year and further next year. This means that the activities in the construction sector are back to the levels prior to the hurricane in Denmark in 1999. The government's housing package, that will take effect in 2002, will further help the industry.
