DENMARK: INFLATION RATE AT 2.1%

Denmark's inflation rate reached 2.1% in 1999, according to figures by Eurostat. This means the inflation rate is bordering on the request for entering the EMU. The Danish citizens will vote on the EMU within the next twelve months, according to a speech by Prime Minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen this Tuesday.

DENMARK: INFLATION RATE UP

Article Abstract:

Inflation rate is now 3.2% in Denmark, according to figures by Danmarks Statistik, the Danish statistical office. This is the highest inflation rate in the past ten years. The 1999 average was 2.5%, compared with 1.9% in 1998. The increase is attributed mainly to a rise in energy prices and salaries.

DENMARK: INFLATION RATE AT 2.2%

Article Abstract:

The Danish inflation rate declined to 2.2% on an annual basis in March from 2.3% in February, according to Danmarks Statistik, the Danish statistical office. The average inflation rate in the EU is 2.3%; if only the twelve EMU countries are included 2.6%.
