DENMARK:DANISH CROWN SAY ITS US RIVALS TELL LIES

Article Abstract:

Danish Crown, the Danish meat giant's CEO Kjeld Johannesen is accusing its US rivals of telling lies about the situation regarding the foot-and-mouth disease in Europe. He says "the information given by slaughter house companies to moulders of public opinion, politicians and other decision makers is highly misleading", which will further lengthen the US ban on European meat imports. Johannesen has written a letter to its biggest rivals in the US regarding the matter. The likely recipients of his letter will be Smithfield and IBP among other things.
