VSNL COMMITS Rs375 CRORE TO BETTER UPLINKING

Article Abstract:

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) has decided to invest Rs375 crore in the Ninth Plan to upgrade its broadcasting and uplinking facilities. It has provided uplinking facilities to five south- based channels - Sun TV, Udaya TV, Surya TV, Eenadu TV and Gemini TV through earth stations at Chennai on the Intelsat platform. The company's uplinking package costs Rs6 lakh per month. VSNL has 17 operational antennas at present on the Intelsat network, which is linked to 10 earth stations across India. (khr)

ZEE TELEFILMS AD RATES CROSS Rs1 LAKH MARK

Article Abstract:

Zee Telefilms Ltd (ZTL) has decided to increase its advertising rates on Zee channel by 25 percent. ZTL's 10-second spots under its new category Kohinoor will now cost Rs120,000. Prior to this, its highest rated slab Super Platinum was priced Rs96,000 for a 10 second spot. It has already received orders for its Kohinoor slab from the customers including, De Beers, Balsara Hygiene Products and Godrej. (gs)
