DLJ takes analytical approach; firm offers issuers bond-tracking system

Article Abstract:

Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette hopes to be able to increase its stature in investment-grade bonds with a new bond-analytical system. CommScan L.L.C., a New York-based securities-research firm has ranked DLJ as one of those making the most money in Wall Street when it comes to high-yield bonds. Donaldson, however, does not have the same distinction when it placed 14th in the underwriting of investment bonds and 12th overall for the most of 1997. The use of a financial engineering desktop is expected to change this picture. The bond-monitoring method could secure a wide range of pricing and bond analysis.
