Damned in war, damned in peace

Article Abstract:

Bosnia could become a multi-ethnic confederation of Serbs, Croats and Muslims. Getting such an arrangement for the war-torn area would be difficult. Some Serbs may launch guerrilla attacks in defiance, and Muslims may rush to carve out as much territory as possible for a mini-state.

Not all bad: Bosnia's elections

Article Abstract:

The Sep 1996 elections in Bosnia were flawed by ethnic tensions, but did not result in a hardened nationalism as some feared. Muslim leader Alija Izetbegovic won the most votes and will chair the three-person presidency. Peaceful coexistence seems more possible after the elections.
