Dark spirits in Germany

Article Abstract:

In 1997, German production of spirits was valued at 6.7 billion Deutsche Marks (DM), down from DM8 billion in 1993. Volume grocery sales of all spirits totalled between 715-750 million 70 cl bottles, of which dark spirits made up 260 million bottles. Dark spirits include whisky, rum, and brandy. An overview of key trends is given, along with output and market data, details of foreign trade, consumption trends, manufacturer profiles, distribution structure, prices and forecasts for the future.

Spirits and liqueurs in Spain

Article Abstract:

In 1997, Spanish output of spirits and liqueurs totalled 203 million litres, representing 6.3% growth on 1996. The market has been boosted by improved exports, rising consumer spending, and promotion, however, the total still falls short of 1992's high of 310 million litres. Whisky continues to dominate the market. An overview of key trends is given, along with details of production, foreign trade, consumption trends, brands, prices, and forecasts.
